The holiday
season is upon us and you tell yourself “This year will be different”… you promise
yourself that this year the holidays will be less hectic, you will have all
of the shopping and the baking done early, and you will have it all together complete
with a perfectly decorated house and plenty of time to relax with family and
friends. This holiday season will
be stress-free. Then it hits you that when the dust settles from the holidays, 2013
will be over and you have tax season to look forward to. YIKES! “I really could have used more tax
deductions this year,” you think to yourself. But, how could you possibly add one more thing to that
ever-growing “to-do” list?
Don’t worry!
We are here to help with an easy way to get a quick tax deduction for 2013!
Donate
things from around your house to Habitat for Humanity’s
ReStore.
The ReStore is a
home-improvement thrift store that helps to support the mission of
Habitat for Humanity.
Here’s how
it works. You have perfectly good stuff around the house (or in a storage unit)
that you no longer need nor want.
You call the ReStore to schedule a pick-up. When your item is picked up, you will receive a donation
receipt from Habitat for Humanity. You use that receipt for your 2013 tax
deduction (donation $ value is determined by the donor).
It’s easy
and everybody wins! This easy tax deduction is just a phone call away. The
ReStore will pick up your unwanted goods (or holiday decorations and gifts) and
you can feel good that you are supporting Habitat for Humanity’s mission to
build decent, affordable homes for hardworking, low-income families and
individuals.
How awesome
is that?!
The ReStore
takes all kinds of items, including: appliances, furniture, exercise equipment,
building materials, brick/block, windows, doors, and much more.
To schedule
a pick-up in the Los Angeles metro area: Call 424-246-3637 or
email us.
If you live
outside the LA metro area and want to find the ReStore nearest you, click
here and enter your zip code.
The ReStores
are open to the public and offer great prices with the inventory changing all the
time. New treasures are found daily!
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles currently has
two locations to
serve you in Gardena and Norwalk.
